Sirius 1,391
Hi all, Well it's been a while since I have been on here and to be honest it's been a while since I took the youngster out for anything more than a run on the lamp. Lots of mooching some ferreting and a quick rabbit on the beam a few nights a week. But this weathers to good to miss out on...eh! I am over the moon with the youngster, it's really clicked. Yes he runs in a bit fast and over shoots and isn't reading the rabbits as well as my old trusty hound, but he isn't a 9 year old seasoned lamp dog with hundreds and hundreds of rabbits under his belt. But Jesus has he got some speed, agility and strike.!! A real pleasure to watch run, you can hear his jaws snapping all the way at the coneys skut till he whacks them and retrieves to hand. And after the first brace he really settled into the job. Tonight I could of easily pushed him harder, but 6 from 8 runs on rabbits is great stuff and we left on a high note with a sapling who is believing he can catch anything.... Positive education for the youngster and therapy for me. Good hunting Sirius reload Edited November 11, 2015 by Sirius 16 Quote Link to post
